David's Graduation

I know that I am WAAAAAY behind, since this is old news, but whether it is late or not this is worth shouting off the Roof tops...
On December 12, 2008 my dear loving husband of 4 years 364 days became a

BYU-IDAHO GRADUATE!!!

After all the hard work, and the MONTH of having a stressed out, grumpy, no sleep husband, (I guess I should be nice, I was probably the same way my last semester) Dave graduated from BYU-Idaho with a BS in History with a German minor.  

Not that I don't love BYU-Idaho, but it is going to be so nice to do something different for awhile.  If Dave's plans go as planned we will be going to grad-school (somewhere) this fall, but even that will be nice, cause it will be something different.  Anyway... Here are some fun pictures of David and his FAN CLUB!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAVIE-POO!!

Today is my wonderful Husband's birthday, and it is a little know fact that he LOVES people to tell him HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!  So, I want to see how many people we can get to tell him, so if you get a minute, call Dave's cell phone and tell him "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!"  (Most of you will probably get his voice mail, but if you do leave your message there!)  Anyway...

We kind out went out for David's birthday last night, because we wanted to go do something.  We went to Winger's and ate dinner and then went to get desert.  We had so much fun at SubZero for Elena's birthday, that we decided to go again.  This time we took Lisa, Mark, Carson, and Sydnee with us.  Ella and Carson had a lot of fun watching the smoke from the liquid Nitrogen again.  (I would have taken a pic of Dave, but he wouldn't let me)  It wasn't much of a birthday party, but we still go to eat good ice cream, and the kids got to watcth the smoke.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HONEY!!!  I promise nobody thinks you are old... (even though you ARE almost 30)

Last night I got to go with Lisa and our friend Erin to a huge TWILIGHT premere party in Pocatello.  For those of you who know me well, you know that I haven't read any of the books... (evil music fills the room as people prepare to burn me at the stakes) Lisa has had tickets to this party for a long time, but she talked me and Erin into going the week of the party.

The party was soooo over the top!!  We met at a church where they picked us up in a limo and took us to this huge house on the hill.  When we got there we got T-shirts and were ushered into the house.  While we were there we had some food, got vampire bite tatooes on our necks, and big on a silent auction.  Soon after this they picked us up with the limo again, and took us to the movie.  When we got to the theatre they opened the limo door and we got to walk up the red carpet.

The movie was really good.  Being a "non-reader" (hello my name is Brook and I admit that I am a "non-reader") I had a lot different perspective on the movie than the people who had read the books.  I really liked it a lot.  I loved how Stephanie Meyers captured the innocent side of love rather than the sexual Hollywood version of love that is normally depicted in movies.

After the movie we rode in the limo back to the house where we ate soup and desert.  We had a great time, and we even made the news!!  Check out this video and see if you can find us in the film.

Sub Zero Ice Cream

For Elena's actual birthday, we decided that we were going to try sub zero ice cream.  It is a ice cream place where they make your ice cream right in front of you.  For all of you Cold Stone fans, do not get pictures of a marble slab dancing in front of your eyes, this is different.  At Cold Stone there are ice cream flavors already mixed, then you add things to them.  This store starts with good old cream.  They poor it in the bowl right in front of you.  Then you add as many flavorings to the cream that you want.  There are about a hundred thing to choose from.  Then you get to add mix-ins (candy, brownies, etc.).  But, the COOLEST part comes last!!  They freeze your ice cream with liquid Nitrogen, so it looks like dry ice while they are mixing it.  Ella absolutely loved it, because the guy making her ice cream kept pushing the smoke towards her and making her hands cold!!  The store in Idaho Falls is full of big screen TVs and even has a fire place in the back with a nice cushy couch in front of it.  Sounds like the perfect make-out... I mean Date spot to me!!  Anyway... so if you are looking for something fun to do as a family or on a date night, try Sub Zero Ice Cream, it is pretty awesome!
